Technical specyfication of file's preparation for
the CTP system.
1. Driver
Drivers and PPD files of Agfa Apogee system are accessible on server www
With Microsoft Windows systems we recommend installation with Adobe PostScript
Driver program, attainable on our servers ( winsteng exe file) with the use
of agapoge.ppd.file. We don't recommend installation with printing installator
system.
2. Preparation of operations
- Pre-separated files Postscript 3 (we accept composities files PDF 1.3,
but it must be mentioned that many programs e.g. CorelDraw has got problems
with creating composities files when applying some effects).
WE DO NOT ACCEPT
SEPARATED PDF FILES
- Fonts altered onto curves or put into postcript file;
- Single pages ( one page in file correspond with one of publication- which
means that we do not create sections, often required by printings in case
of manual assembly;
- Gross format according to following rules: net format +10 mm from each
side(so for the 200x285 net publication format, gross format is 220x305 mm,
and net
page is centred) with linked cutting lines. Other printing marks should not
be included (colour descriptions, calibration strips etc.) Net page centred
on gross format( independently whether the falls are symmetrical or not);
- All pages in the same format and orientation ( even with made betterments-
otherwise exchanged pages will not be at its assembly places!!!);
- Fly-leafs (empty pages) should be enclosed with files or included in a
register;
- Files should be named according to following established pattern:
title s XXX-XXX.ps where XXX means number of pages
(e.g.:file _s001-045.ps)
when made betterments with pattern:
title_ sXXXa.ps, where a means first exchange of page, b-second )
(example: file _s012c.ps)
We recommend that the created files have few pages- what means that instead
of exposing all publication in one file including e.g. 320 pages, it is better
to divide her into smaller parts e.g. chapters.
In case of CorelDraw postcripts it is necessary to expose every page in
individual file.
Finished assemblies
Finished assemblies have to be of size complaisant with slab or paper format
(in this case it is necessary to specify the distance of paper from slab's
side on machine) and include correct arrangement all required on slab
parts
(arrangement of pages/calibration strips, cross registering etc.), so
that they do not require further treatment.
